Mexico
How delightful Mexico was! Everything, including the airport security, the flight, the country, its beautiful places, and warm people, all of it was too good. Traveling after so long enriched me more than before. I enjoyed even the smallest of pleasures of life, like strolling in the streets unknown, eating food of a foreign land, discovering history, and everything about Mexico. Being away from all these pleasures for about six months made me realize how much all this means to me. Especially in a time like this, the sheer security and responsibility that United Airlines assumed for its passengers right from the boarding up till leaving the flight, was something that set my experience apart.
United Airlines assured security of its passengers by following all the COVID-19 safety measures. There were proper hygiene and sanitization, and I couldn’t find anything as such to complain about. The airline made sure the passengers were maintaining social distancing and that all the services were organized maintaining all safety measures. And when I landed in Mexico, I was so relieved I chose United Airlines for my travel!
Los Angeles
I also recalled I took this trip with United Airlines to Los Angeles and what a terrific experience I had. From the security check, boarding, in-flight services to the exit, everything about the flying experience with United Airlines was excellent.
While I was in Los Angeles, I couldn’t help miss their margaritas. The Red O in Los Angeles is where you should head to if you wish for an uncontrolled, lifetime cocktail experience. Even though this might slightly pinch your pocket but it is worth every penny. Especially, their Benjamin will blow your mind. Since I had splurged so much on my food and cocktails, I took a very cost-friendly route for the rest of my Los Angeles trip. But I was in for so much excitement. Los Angeles has some of the best things you can do. There are cinematic cityscapes, iconic landmarks, bright skies, and a vibrant culture that will instantly melt your heart. I took the time to watch the cosmos from the Griffith Observatory that sits on the south of Mount Hollywood. It was such an incredible and unexplainable experience.
That is not all, I also visited the Getty Center, which is home to some of the most remarkable architectural achievements in Los Angeles. The center also has a stellar art collection, which you can see for free. On one such beautiful Los Angeles evening, I took a stroll down the Venice Broadwalk and wondered how life was such a beautiful theory. There were street dancers, roller-skaters, hula-hoop magicians, and others making the streets vibrant and lovely.
All these memories from my Los Angeles trip make me nostalgic and want to see the city again. But there is so much left to see in the world still. And I can always come back to Los Angeles later in life. Currently, it is time to explore more. With the ongoing pandemic, one positive thing is the freedom to absolutely work from anywhere. For a globe trotter like me, this has been a blessing. I got a month of work-from-home sanctioned and now I am free to go explore and also devote my time to work from absolutely anywhere I wish to. What a pleasure it will be to wake up to the sound of waves or the chirping of birds and sitting and working in the open, under the sun!
Cuba
I am thinking of visiting these few places while my work-from-anywhere lasts. I, of course, only intend to take United Airlines, given the past exemplary experience I had with the airline. The first place I would head off once I lay off Mexico hangover would be Havana, Cuba. They call it the Cuban capital for a reason. The city has everything you could think of, there are old cars, colorful buildings, sophisticated, retro yet cosmopolitan culture, great food, thrilling nightlife, a much-hyped culture. I particularly wish to visit La Habana Vieja, the Old Havana, which serves up the most preserved slice of Cuban History. I want to stroll down the streets exploring the Gran Teatro de la Havana, Museo de la Revolucion, and other colonial architectures. I have been wanting to visit this glorious place for very long and with all the time in my hand, I am striking this one off my bucket list. I just need to be attentive towards COVID-19 safety measures and traveling to Havana would be a lifetime experience.
New Zealand
I am also going to take some time to go visit my sister in New Zealand. From what I hear, New Zealand is a trip that will leave you mesmerized and in complete awe of its beauty. I wish to see the supremely beautiful landscapes, perfect mountains, stunning glaciers, clear rivers, lush forests, and the isolated beaches. On my must-visit list in New Zealand, there is Fiordland, Bay of Island, and the Waitomo Glowworm Caves. I also have plans to go Heli-hiking the Franz Josef Glacier with my sister or maybe hike the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. All fingers crossed because we could also take 500ft Nevis Bungy Jump outside of Queenstown and 15,000 ft skydiving over Lake Taupo. There is so much to do in New Zealand, I might extend my work-from-anywhere mode and unwind in Rotorua, New Zealand, or maybe chill in Wellington, discovering great architecture, exciting nightlife, amazing restaurants, and cultural activities.
Too many dreams that need to be fulfilled. Well, there is hope now since I have learned to manage my safety. And also, the security of the airport and airlines have instilled a hope in me to continue to travel and keep my spirits flying high. So, I am ready to explore the new world in the new normal but ensuring my safety and that of others. Life is too short to be wasted waiting. A journey of hope awaits.
