- NEW YORK CITY –
New York City offers a wide-ranging choice of experiences during Easter, from mass at the majestic St. Patrick’s Cathedral to the vibrant and festive Easter Bonnet Parade, which takes place between 10 am and 4 pm. One of the best spots to view the parade is also conveniently located near St. Patrick’s Cathedral, or you can partake in the parade with a bonnet of your choice.
- NEW ORLEANS –
Known for its love of parades, New Orleans is the best city to be during Easter if parades are your thing. On this day, the Historic French Quarter Parade, which is NOLA’s oldest Easter procession, kick starts the day’s activities and includes mass at the St. Louis Cathedral and ladies in Easter hats distributing candy and beads. Also, a little later in the day the Chris Owens Easter Parade continues the festivities and is led a French Quarter entertainer, features horse-drawn carriages, period costumes, floats and yes more candy and beads being thrown into the crowds. If that is not enough, the last parade of the day – the Gay Easter Parade, starts around 4 pm and features more floats, horse-drawn carriages, trolleys and beads.
- ASHEVILLE –
Clearly a favorite Easter destination of children, Asheville is host to three Easter eggs hunts the biggest and most picturesque is arguably the Biltmore House Easter Egg Hunt. It is held in a French country estate with gorgeous lawns, which are in bloom and all the participants looking adorable in their Sunday best. Open to children aged 2-9 years old, and features music, storytelling, a magic show, craft activities and the Easter Rabbit. In addition, brunch can be had at the Biltmore Dining Room and the Deerpark Restaurant.
